Virgin Coconut Oil is derived from the fresh meat or kernel of a mature fruit of coconut rather than the sundried coconut meat known as copra. Virgin Coconut Oils are produced one of two ways: Quick drying of fresh coconut meat, which is then used to extract the oil by mechanical means, wet-milling method. Coconut milk first is extracted from fresh coconut meat by mechanical pressing. The oil is then extracted from coconut milk by way of boiling, fermentation, refrigeration, enzymes or mechanical centrifuge.Virgin Coconut Oil is water clear in colour, has mild sweet aroma. VCO is chemical and additive free, and is the purest form of coconut oil. 

Specifically, the dry pressing process needs to peel and shell the coconut to get the coconut pulp inside. The coconut meat is processed into copra or ground into coconut meat powder. The copra or grated coconut meat (coconut meat powder) is pressed by a coconut oil extraction machine to obtain the crude coconut oil. The edible coconut oil can be obtained by refining the coconut oil.

The moisture of copra for coconut oil extracting is about 10% -20%, and grinding diameter of copra is better about 0.3cm in diameter, and the granules are pressed into thin flakes to expand the surface area of coconut oil pressing. Generally, the oil cake of coconut oil is about 6% to 7%. The features of oil cake coming out from a good copra oil press machine are the cake is light brown and the highest residual oil is 8%. And, the thickness of the coconut cake is approximately 0.6cm and the fine powder is no more than 6%. That’s what our copra oil press can easily achieve.

Copra is the main ingredient in the coconut oil production, which is processed by such as pressing or solvent extraction method to unrefined coconut oil. Crude coconut oil extracted in this way may contain plant residues, dust, etc. and is easily oxidized with a strong natural odor, making it unsuitable for direct consumption or use in other areas.
