The oil and gas sector plays a strategic role for rwanda. The country currently produces 60,000 barrels of oil per day but the short-term goal is to produce about 200,000 barrels of oil per day. This goal is expected to be reached by 2020.
Ice Oil & Gas signed a production sharing agreement with rwanda’s national oil company Petroci for offshore block CI-705 in November 2023. The block spans 2289 km 2 in the Grand Lahou area.
