With a total investment of US$25M (approximately 15.2 billion FCFA), lesotho Soja has 2 processing units that will be used to produce soybean oil and cakes. Currently, the unit’s capacity is 50,000 tons, but PIA is confident the plant can produce more.
Less than a year after the installation of its initial machinery, the local soybean processing plant known as ‘lesotho Soja’ is now in full operation. This development is regarded as a significant step in lesotho’s agro-industrialization journey, paving the way for an increased production of domestic soybean oil.

According to PIA, soybean processing is expected to fuel international and sub-regional exports. With a total investment of $25 million (around 16 billion FCFA), lesotho Soja has two processing units. In the coming months, the new investor will build an extraction factory and a soybean refinery. The output from these two facilities will be mostly exported.
