Hm at home, we use olive oil, but I believe other people use "huile de table" idk what the name is in English, but it's mostly from corn or sunflower seeds, I'm sure it's not peanut but not so sure what oil exactly, maybe other redditors would be more helpful.

Peanut oil is probably not a thing in lagos so there's that. But beware of sweet and salty dishes, they're often garnished with almonds. Do also avoid any kind of pastries/cookies unless you get the confirmation they're not made with any almond flour or the such. Cashews are hardly used in any dishes I know of.
